Interviewing my target audience
Interview three people who meet your target audiecne talking about whether or not they like your product.
As part of my evaluation I interviewed my target audience to receive feedback on my magazine.
Interviewee 1: Female, Age 13
By looking at the front cover of the magazine I think it would attract people of my age because the colours are bright and girly. The different shades of pink give the magazine a young, feminine approach. The cover lines on the front cover are good because they relate to the theme of the magazine which is pop music.
The contents page presents typical features of a magazines contents page this is because it features conventions such as page numbers and the titles of the stories/ articles included inside the magazine. I also like how each page looks as if it belongs to the same magazine due to the colours and interesting layout.
Interviewee 2: Female, Age 17
I really like how Victoria has linked her main colour themes black and pink to what the cover star is wearing, I also really like the name of the magazine 'Sensation' as the word sensations makes you feel as if your going to find out about lots of different topics throughout the magazine;music genres.You can tell that victoria has thought alot ablout her target audience, and how she is going to engage them, i think her colour choices were excellent as they really signified her audience is teenage girls. Her contents page is set out in an very organised way, which is very easy to read. I think the print screen of the front cover in the bottom right creates a funky edgey look to the magazine. Overall I really like the magazine and think it attracts the right audience.
Interviewee 3: Female, Age 15
From looking at the magazine I can tell the audience are teenage girls from the colours being used. The audience is also indicated through the 'free poster' being included which you wouldn't necessarily have in an adult magazine. The audience is also presented via the various cover-lines such as 'Top 100 dance tunes of 2012'. This shows the magazine is focused around pop music and targeted at a younger audience. From looking at the contents page I can tell this is the purpose due to the layout and the clear indication of page numbers. The continuation of pink shows the audience are young and gives the audience a clear indication to where the key information starts.
Looking lastly at the article page, the model looks like she is having fun in the images. I like the alterante colouring of the text this makes it easy to understand who is speaking at which time. (Alteration between the interviewer and interviewee). The page is set out to look young, fun and fashionable. I really like the magazine it definitely approaches the correct target audience of young female teenagers.
